ABOUT THE ART:
In the 90s, it was hard for me to find any Black comics. I used to ride the bus to a Black bookstore in downtown Atlanta to get one called Brotherman, and eventually, a Black imprint called Milestone comics popped up. And it was in comics shops! One of the Milestone characters was Rocket, who was partnered with Icon, and she’s popped up in the Young Justice cartoon recently. Anyway, this is another in my series of Black women superhero drawings, an ongoing side project I’m doing.
